Creativity and New Media
For this creativity assignment, I decided to give Second Life a try. I wanted to play the Sims and make my own character but I couldn't get it to work on my laptop. In Second Life, there's a lot of things, events and customization to do. I spent about 30-45 min trying to customize and change my outfit and face. I was able to change almost every aspect of my face such as eyes, face shape, eyebrows, cheekbones, lips, etc. I also changed parts of my body such as very specific dimensions. I changed my outfit a couple of times. I noticed there was a lot of people out in the town square so I went over there. People started talking to me instantly and I had a couple friendly conversations with random people. Second life has a lot of different aspects to customize and make your own. It truly is another virtual world that can take you all over the world. It's pretty much like real life on your computer. I was surprised how many options there was to customize. The online store has thousands and thousands of pages of items, clothes, makeup, etc. Customization wasn't as easy as I thought I would be but it might be because it was lagging a lot for me.
