Social Networking
Social networks have grown tremendously in the last decade. Now, many companies use social networks to promote their business or products. It's very unlikely for a company or business to not have any type of social media. Businesses also use social networks to communicate and build relationships with their consumers. Many businesses also use Facebook or Twitter as a customer service tool to solve problems customers have. Businesses like Uber and Spotify use twitter as a direct line to reach them at. There are many benefits of companies having a social media because we can easily contact a business at any time. We're also able to quickly receive updates and check for any upcoming events.
Although, there are many positive benefits of instant access to companies, there are also many downsides of social networks. In Facebook Privacy is so Confusing, we can see that even the family of Mark Zuckerberg has a hard time using the privacy settings on Facebook. The new privacy settings are allegedly so confusing that photos and posts you think are private are not actually private. This can be extremely detrimental for companies and businesses. Another example of the dark side of social networking is demonstrated in NBC2's investigation of Facebook scammers. People are now posting fake cars, items, etc on Facebook and asking for payment without providing any actual item. This can be really dangerous and your money can easily disappear if you're not careful enough. There are probably fake businesses doing the same thing. This technology is only going to advance in the future. It's actually scary what technology can already do. AIs are becoming a lot more common and they can be used to scam just as much as they can be used to do good. Companies are now using their online services more and more and those systems can be easily hacked once technology becomes more advanced.
